About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is hiring an experienced DevOps Engineer or Principal DevOps Engineer. The position may be staffed at Level 2 or Principal level, based on qualifications, and can be based in Aurora, Colorado; Morrisville, North Carolina; or Sacramento, California. The position requires an active Top Secret clearance and an active CI Polygraph, and offers a sign-on bonus starting at $5,000. Relocation assistance may be available.

The role plans and evolves processes and infrastructure for programs focused on rapid capability maturation and deployment. It builds and supports automated development and delivery pipelines, infrastructure provisioning and management, monitoring, and system administration, working closely with Agile software development teams and other technical personnel.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
• Active U.S. Government CI Polygraph at application, current and within scope.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Level 2: Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 0 years of experience; 4 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• Level 3 / Principal: Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience; 4 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and provisioning technology.
• CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT/IAM II certification.
• Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems.
• Experience working in an Agile software development framework.

Responsibilities

• Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to support rapid capability maturation and deployment.
• Integrate development pipelines using automation, test-driven development tools, and continuous integration and test frameworks.
• Define and implement build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring standards.
• Ensure software configuration management, code quality, and code coverage through automated testing in CI/CD pipelines.
• Work as part of an Agile development team to deliver end-to-end automation for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
• Build and configure delivery environments that support CI/CD tools using an Agile delivery methodology.
• Create scripts or templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Work with development teams to create automated continuous integration and continuous delivery systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve problems.
• Monitor and support installed systems and infrastructure.
• Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Oversee security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and develop and implement solutions with developers.
