DevOps Engineer - $20K Sign On Bonus - 31012
About The Position
Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join its team. The role supports a customer onsite in Fort Meade, Maryland, and focuses on implementing cloud infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the monitoring, reliability, and scalability of services. The engineer will support AWS infrastructure, particularly EKS, and work closely with development teams to integrate applications into operational infrastructure. The position requires onsite work at the customer location five days a week and flexibility to accommodate schedule changes. The employee may also be asked to help open or close the workspace during regular business hours. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered if hired as an Enlighten employee. The anticipated salary range is $150,000–$190,000.
Requirements
- Must currently have and maintain an active TS-level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI-level Security Clearance.
- Must have 9+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field; or 7 years of relevant experience and a master's degree in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of one or more of the following: Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms; AWS services such as EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda and their application to infrastructure deployment and management; configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible; or application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
- Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools.
- Comfort operating in a terminal-based environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Must have or be able to obtain DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications, such as Security+, within 30 days of hire.
- Must be willing and able to help open or close the workspace during regular business hours as needed.
- Must work onsite at the customer location in Fort Meade, Maryland, five days per week and be flexible to accommodate schedule changes.
Nice To Haves
- Currently holds an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Proficient knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Git, Flux, Helm, and other development and deployment tools.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
- Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, AWS SNS, AWS SQS, and AWS Diode.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites.
Responsibilities
- Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
- Automate deployment processes and implement CI/CD pipelines to support reliability and rapid scaling.
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into operational infrastructure.
- Monitor production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve them to maintain high availability.
- Continuously improve processes and tools to support high availability and performance.
- Stay current with technologies and industry trends and explore ways to improve infrastructure.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
