About The Position

Raft is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their passionate team. This role involves actively developing and implementing end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles, ensuring secure and efficient processes. The engineer will collaborate with clients on designing and implementing Kubernetes or Docker solutions, build CI/CD pipelines for smooth software updates, and apply GitOps principles for software delivery. A key aspect of the role is ensuring development and continuous integration/delivery processes adhere to security best practices, meet security requirements, and pass testing. The position also involves working with cloud deployment activities to ensure configurations meet STIG or DOD required security standards.

Requirements

  • Masters level Degree + 10 years of relevant hands-on experience with DevSecOps principles OR Bachelors Degree + 18 years of relevant hands-on experience with DevSecOps principles
  • Experience with AWS and cloud technologies
  • Good grasp of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Networking experience
  • Experience or knowledge of Service-Mesh, such as Istio
  • Good knowledge of version control systems like Gitlab
  • Experience in software systems development using CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with Java, Node.js, Terraform Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Python
  • Passionate about automation, system efficiency, and security
  • Experience with Log Management and Analytics tools
  • Proficient in tools like AWS Cloud Services, Gitlab, Ansible, Maven, Gradle
  • Experience with Unit/Integration Testing
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code
  • Able to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of employment with Raft
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with writing custom Helm Charts
  • Basic experience with Big Data
  • Multilingual programming abilities
  • Knowledge in automation languages like Python or GoLang

Responsibilities

  • Actively developing and implementing end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles
