About The Position

Visionist has an exciting new, fully FUNDED opportunity for a DevOps Engineer on our PRIME contract. This hands-on DevOps position allows you to expand your skills across the full DevOps lifecycle. You will work with existing systems to troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and modernize infrastructure and automation across the DevOps toolchain. The role supports GitLab CI/CD environments, AWS infrastructure, containerized applications, and a Kubernetes/RKE2 development cluster, with opportunities to take increasing ownership of automation and modernization efforts. Dependent on the role being performed this program allows hybrid work from home opportunities 2 days a week. Requirements

Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
14 years of experience in systems engineering
Experience with Git, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Linux, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Make/build automation
Experience writing or modifying YAML-based CI/CD configurations
Experience scripting with Bash, Python, or a similar language
Experience with container image creation, tagging, registries, and container security concepts
Experience with infrastructure-as-code concepts and Terraform workflows
Experience troubleshooting technical issues independently and methodically
U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible).
Applicants selected will be required to obtain / maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

Maintain and modernize GitLab CI/CD environments, including configurations, runners, jobs, and pipelines
Troubleshoot failed builds and deployments and improve pipeline reliability, efficiency, and standardization
Maintain and modernize build systems and automate Docker image building, tagging, scanning, and publishing
Maintain and improve Terraform configurations used to provision AWS infrastructure
Automate container and software dependency vulnerability identification and support remediation efforts
Develop scripts and automation to reduce repetitive operational tasks
Troubleshoot issues across Linux, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
Maintain and administer Kubernetes/RKE2 development environments, including deployments, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Maintain Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, configurations, and supporting automation
Document processes, configurations, and operational procedures
