About The Position

Tenet3 is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Technical Operations team. This role is responsible for the health, automation, and security of a diverse ecosystem including Xen VMs, Fortinet networking, and Kubernetes-based deployments. The ideal candidate will possess operational discipline, a proactive drive to enhance technical capabilities, and a strong interest in GitOps, automated compliance, and Google SecOps. The company focuses on digital knowledge management, cybersecurity, system trustworthiness, and software/hardware assurance, developing software products with advanced machine learning and property graph representations. They leverage their MeTRA® platform and AI/ML tooling to build digital knowledge graphs for systems assurance, cybersecurity, and engineering change analyses, serving government and commercial customers.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Proven experience managing Xen VMs, Kubernetes deployments, and Fortinet networking devices.
  • Solid understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, Firewalls).
  • Knowledge of and a strong interest in security operations and SIEM tools.
  • Proficient in Python or Bash for system automation and administration.
  • Must possess a current CompTIA Security+ certification or be able to obtain it within the first 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience with AWS or GCP deployments.
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation to support a GitOps workflow.
  • A basic understanding of Django or RESTful API architecture is helpful for troubleshooting application deployments.
  • High proficiency with Git-based platforms (GitHub or GitLab).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize the internal technical stack (Xen Virtual Machines, Kubernetes) and support the product-facing AWS environment.
  • Advance and bolster the GitOps style of administration, ensuring infrastructure changes across all platforms are automated, documented, and version-controlled.
  • Configure and support core networking concepts and hardware, specifically focusing on Fortinet devices.
  • Ensure robust security processes are integrated into CI/CD pipelines, including automated container image scanning and continuous compliance checking.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and strong interest in security operations (SecOps) by helping to evolve the Google SecOps deployment and SIEM tooling.
  • Successfully manage tasks through team Kanban boards while maintaining the autonomy to identify and propose system improvements.
  • Write and maintain robust scripts in Python or Bash to automate manual tasks and improve system reliability.
