Role Overview Do you enjoy leading teams that design scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure platforms? Are you passionate about driving standardization, enabling self-service capabilities, and building reusable infrastructure patterns at scale? As a DevOps Engineering IV you will lead the DevOps infrastructure initiatives and responsible for defining and delivering AWS-based cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud orchestration strategies across the organization. You will drive the development of standardized cloud platforms (“paved roads”), enabling product teams to rapidly provision and operate infrastructure in a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient manner. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning to ensure infrastructure capabilities align with DevOps goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in DevOps engineering or related software engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Deep expertise in AWS architecture design and best practices
  • Experience defining enterprise-scale cloud architecture strategies
  • Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability patterns
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid environments (AWS/Azure)
  • Expert-level experience with Terraform/OpenTofu (modular design, governance, reusable frameworks)
  • Experience implementing IaC at scale across multiple teams and environments
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle automation and orchestration
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) and container platforms
  • Knowledge of cluster design, networking, scaling, and security
  • Deep understanding of IAM, RBAC, and cloud security best practices
  • Experience implementing policy-as-code, compliance frameworks, and audit controls
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, data protection standards)
  • Strong experience with cloud cost management, optimization strategies, and FinOps practices
  • Ability to design cost-efficient and scalable architectures
  • Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to drive cross-pillar collaboration and alignment
  • Experience influencing architecture decisions at organizational level
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) and self-service infrastructure
  • Familiarity with GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Experience leading large-scale cloud migration programs
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Infrastructure Architecture team, including team direction, delivery planning, and performance management
  • Define and own the cloud architecture strategy across AWS (and Azure where applicable), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
  • Establish and enforce standardized infrastructure patterns (networking, compute, storage, IAM, Kubernetes, serverless)
  • Drive the development of reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform/OpenTofu
  • Enable self-service infrastructure provisioning through automation and integration with CI/CD pipelines
  • Define and implement cloud governance frameworks, including security, compliance, tagging, and cost controls
  • Lead architecture reviews and governance processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
  • Partner with CI/CD teams to integrate infrastructure into automated deployment workflows
  • Collaborate with Observability teams to ensure infrastructure includes monitoring, logging, and alerting by design
  • Oversee cloud cost optimization initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and FinOps practices
  • Lead container platform strategy and orchestration (EKS/AKS), including scalability, security, and lifecycle management
  • Drive cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including automation frameworks and repeatable migration patterns
  • Establish operational excellence practices, including reliability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization
  • Work with Product Enablement Squads to prioritize and deliver high-impact infrastructure capabilities and critical issue resolution
  • Define and track KPIs and success metrics for the infrastructure Team (e.g., automation coverage, cost efficiency, deployment speed)
  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and reduction of manual effort
  • Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with leadership to align infrastructure strategy with business goals and product roadmaps
