About The Position

Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a DevOps Engineer II, you will lead the development, deployment, and optimization of our Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with development and operations teams to implement automation, ensure system reliability, and support continuous integration and delivery practices. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps or related role.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.
  • Software development experience , with at least one object oriented language such as but not limited to Java, Python, C#, C++ or Go
  • Demonstrated implementation of microservices, container, and cloud-native application development
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or Openshift and related container platform ecosystems
  • Experience working with multiple cloud vendors
  • Experience with managed Kubernetes services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  • Demonstrated experience with developer tools such as GitHub and on-prem Azure DevOps
  • Strong experience with Linux
  • Strong understanding and experience of release engineering, CI and CD pipelines
  • Strong Agile experience working in Scrum and/or Kanban models
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality and consistent systems and environments for development teams
  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large teams
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Frequent communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines that support multiple deployment approaches across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to ensure consistent, reliable environments throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Optimize and standardize deployment workflows, enabling repeatable release processes that accommodate variations in product and customer requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance and reliability, applying advanced diagnostic skills across distributed systems and complex integrations.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to align deployment strategies with architectural goals, security requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new technologies, refining operational tooling, and establishing best‑practice documentation for deployment and release operations.
  • Works as part of a larger Agile software development team to rapidly provide operational capabilities to the field
  • Implement and maintain DevOps practices that adhere to industry-specific compliance and security standards ensuring secure and reliable deployment pipelines.
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, and participate in incident response efforts to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime.
