About The Position

The DevOps Engineer will provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system using cutting-edge cloud, containerization, automation, and CI/CD technologies. This role is responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, developing Infrastructure as Code, automating deployment processes, optimizing system performance, supporting sprint execution, and helping drive the technical direction of the infrastructure in alignment with program and product needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 12 years or more of professional experience; or 10 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Current CWIP (DoD 8140) certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including but not limited to EC2, Lambdas, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, Step Functions using Terraform and auto scaling.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain infrastructure using AWS technologies and services.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation scripts, and tools using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and tune containerization platforms including Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, Docker Compose, and related services.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code using GitLab runners, GitLab CI/CD, and Argo CD.
  • Perform high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, cost analysis, implementation, and complex issue resolution.
  • Evaluate cloud infrastructure costs, recommend cost-saving measures, reduce maintenance overhead, and optimize AWS service usage.
  • Decompose sprint priorities into actionable tasks and generate tickets aligned with internal team priorities.
  • Manage team tasking and sprint workloads to ensure coordinated execution and delivery.
  • Track ticket execution while guiding the technical direction of infrastructure to support program and product objectives.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve application performance, reliability, and system uptime.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and resolve operational problems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and technical leadership.
