About The Position

This position involves analyzing user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. The role includes analyzing system requirements and leading design and development activities. The engineer will guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. This role provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology, and incorporates new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations. Developing technical documentation and system architecture/design documentation is also a key part of this role. The engineer will guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interaction with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts is expected. The ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility lies with this role. Communication with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives is also required.

Requirements

  • AWS (S3, VPCs & Networking, EC2, ECS/EKS).
  • Containerization (Docker, k8s, Registries).
  • IaC (Terraform/Cloud Formation).
  • CI/CD (Jenkins/ GitHub Actions).
  • Self-driven, self-learner willing to share knowledge and participate actively in a team environment.
  • CWIP IAT Level I required.
  • Twenty (20) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, Python.

Responsibilities

  • Provide optimization and automation across multiple platforms and applications.
  • Drive consistency for deployment and build processes.
  • Utilize modern tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Ansible, Terraform, Python, Linux, and much more.
  • Work with teams on large and demonstrable projects (preferably built on with AWS and familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, Python).
  • Understand how to set up a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Understand Agile software development and DevOps practices and work closely with peers in other mid-to large size teams.
  • Focus on understanding customers' needs and translating those needs from product specifications into functional, production ready code and infrastructure.
  • Develop system requirements specifications.
  • Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
