DevOps Developer (Lead or Senior)
About The Position
The Boeing Company, specifically the BDS Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS), Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) division, is seeking a Lead or Senior DevOps Developer (Level 4 or 5) to join their team in Seal Beach or El Segundo, California. This division focuses on developing next-generation products and services for the BDS business unit, working with commercial and proprietary customers on advanced space technologies. The team engages in rapid prototyping and covers all engineering aspects from concept development to product demonstration. The DevOps Developer will be part of a high-performing team working on high-intensity development projects for U.S. government customers involved in advanced technology national security missions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with deploying, securing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems (RHEL5/6/7/8)
- Experience in DevOps cloud system design
- Experience with scripting, particularly in shell scripting in sh and csh variants, Bash, Python, and PERL
- Experience writing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep, ARM, or Terraform
- Must be willing and able to travel occasionally to support customer needs
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including on call support as needed (including weekends and holidays)
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with an adjudicated CI/FS polygraph

- Experience with VMware Virtual Machines and Hypervisor
- Experience with PKI certificates and Security protocols
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Windows 10+
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification
Responsibilities
- Apply modern DevOps practices (including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code) to streamline integration and test activities
- Stand up, configure, and maintain secure test environments leveraging cloud-native and virtualized resources
- Drive continuous improvement of integration and test processes, incorporating automation, metrics, and lessons learned to increase efficiency and reliability
- Automate, develop, monitor, improve, and troubleshoot across engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls
- Review, develop, document, and maintain system requirements and traceability
- Interface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customers
