About The Position

Join Ericsson Financial Services and help operate and improve a mobile financial services platform used by millions of people worldwide. The platform supports peer-to-peer transfers, payments, disbursements, savings and loans, contributing to greater financial inclusion. As a DevOps Architect – Oracle Admin within Operations, you will provide technical leadership for the Oracle database platforms supporting critical financial services. You will drive secure, resilient and highly available database operations through architecture, automation, performance management, incident leadership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, information technology or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in Oracle database administration, database engineering, platform operations or infrastructure architecture.
  • Proven experience operating Oracle databases in high-volume, business-critical or regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, lifecycle management and performance tuning.
  • Practical experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, backup and recovery, replication and disaster-recovery planning.
  • Experience with Oracle security, Linux administration, shell scripting, storage, networking, virtualisation and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash, as well as Git, CI/CD, GitOps and automated operational workflows.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, alerting, log analysis and 24/7 incident, problem, change and service-continuity management.
  • Strong architectural, analytical, troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to make sound decisions during major incidents.
  • A proactive approach to ownership, automation, documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, and willingness to participate in 24/7 support and travel for on-site work when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, ITIL, audit requirements, financial-services controls and AI tools such as GPT or KIRO.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operational architecture, standards and technical direction for Oracle database platforms.
  • Design, administer and optimise highly available Oracle environments across on-premises, virtualised and cloud platforms.
  • Lead database lifecycle activities, including installations, upgrades, patching, migrations and configuration changes.
  • Implement and test backup, recovery and disaster-recovery solutions using RMAN, Oracle Data Guard and Oracle RAC where applicable.
  • Lead complex database incidents, major incidents and recurring problems, including root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and improve database availability, performance, capacity, replication, backup and recovery readiness, including SQL and execution-plan optimisation.
  • Maintain security controls and automate provisioning, patching, health checks, backup validation and routine administration using Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform or equivalent tools.
  • Support controlled database changes through DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps and infrastructure-as-code practices; collaborate with platform teams, maintain operational documentation and contribute to governance, audits and continuous improvement.
  • Use AI tools such as GPT and KIRO to improve troubleshooting, automation and documentation.
  • Participate in a scheduled 24/7 support rotation and travel for on-site work when required.
