The Developmental Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, supports facility upkeep by performing routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs under supervision. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and addressing issues across multiple trades, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance with regulations. The technician documents maintenance activities, operates heavy machinery, and assists with work orders and parts management. Requirements

  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs across multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Ability to inspect, diagnose, and document facility and equipment conditions using blueprints, manuals, and repair catalogs.
  • Proficiency in operating hand and power tools, heavy machinery, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Strong organizational skills to complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and parts requests accurately.
  • Capability to respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs and coordinate vehicle maintenance and operation.
  • Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and standards of integrity in all work activities.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass motor vehicle report.
  • 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area OR 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations

  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment, documenting signs of wear and maintenance activities.
  • Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to complete minor repairs under supervision.
  • Operate and inspect heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety procedures and certification requirements.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and diagnose issues using blueprints and repair manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts usage, work orders, and maintenance logs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
