The Developmental Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting people to achieve their personal dreams and goals. This role involves assessing individual aspirations, facilitating community integration and relationship building, and ensuring the protection and promotion of individual rights. The specialist will provide support for emotional, physical, and medical needs, foster positive relationships using person-centered approaches, and contribute to planning and implementation of individual support plans. Accurate documentation of progress, actions, and incidents is crucial. The role also includes assisting with daily living activities in the home, providing transportation, ensuring safety through emergency procedure knowledge and drills, and potentially assisting with new staff training. Sleepovers at residential settings may be required, along with active participation in meetings and required training. Compliance with agency policies, state, and federal regulations is mandatory.
