The Developmental Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting people to achieve their personal dreams and goals. This role involves assessing individuals' aspirations, facilitating community integration and relationship development, and ensuring their rights are protected and promoted. The specialist will provide support for emotional, physical, and medical needs, foster positive relationships through person-centered approaches, and contribute to planning and implementation of individual plans. Documentation of progress, daily notes, and communication logs are essential. The role also includes assisting with daily living activities such as housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation. Safety procedures, including emergency drills and community safety, are a key responsibility. Additionally, the specialist will assist with new staff orientation and training, and may be required to perform sleepovers in residential settings. Maintaining required certifications and adhering to agency policies and state/federal regulations are crucial.
