The Developmental Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting people to achieve their personal dreams and goals. This role involves assessing individuals' aspirations, facilitating community integration and relationship development, and ensuring their rights are protected and promoted. The specialist will provide support for emotional, physical, and medical needs, foster self-determination through positive approaches, and contribute to planning and implementation of individual support plans. Accurate documentation of progress, actions, and incidents is crucial. The role also includes assisting with daily living activities in the home, providing transportation, ensuring safety through emergency preparedness, and supporting new staff. Sleepovers may be required, along with active participation in meetings and training to maintain necessary certifications. Compliance with agency policies, state, and federal regulations is mandatory.
