About The Position
Ampersand Therapy is hiring a part-time Developmental Adapted Physical Education Teacher in the Brooklyn Park, MN area for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an in-person, part-time position (0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week). The role involves developing individualized adapted physical education (APE) goals aligned with students' IEPs, planning and teaching modified physical activities, adapting equipment and instruction for student participation, collaborating with other professionals and families, and monitoring student progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Education or Related Field
- Active Minnesota DAPE license through PELSB (Tier 3 or 4)
- 3 references/letters of recommendation required

- Previous experience working in the classroom setting is preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop individualized adapted physical education (APE) goals aligned with students' IEPs
- Plan and teach modified physical activities that improve motor skills, coordination, strength, and fitness
- Adapt equipment, games, and instruction so students can safely and successfully participate
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support students' physical development and inclusion
- Monitor student progress, documents outcomes, and adjusts instruction to help students meet their goals
