About The Position

Residing Hope is seeking a Development Specialist I to join their team. This role is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families by supporting the organization's development and fundraising efforts. Residing Hope empowers children and families through evidence-based care and holistic services, providing love, hope, and a place to live to over 500 children through group homes, foster care, an independent living program, and specialized therapy. The Development Specialist will play a key role in processing gifts, maintaining donor records, and supporting the Chief Development Officer.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and two years' experience in a development or fundraising setting preferred; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills to successfully perform in this role.
  • Data experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar platform, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
  • Experienced in standard bookkeeping procedures.
  • Self-starter with ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and proactive problem solver.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity to our target population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Valid driver license with a clean driving record, required.

Responsibilities

  • Process and record approximately 100-300 gifts weekly and generate gift acknowledgements within 48 hours of gift receipt.
  • Create new records, input/update address information, notes, relationships, and other pertinent information in records as needed.
  • Welcome occasional visitors and accept deliveries.
  • Prepare deposits and code the information in advance of data-entry; verify input to ensure accuracy of completed work, and scan/edit for errors during processing.
  • Respond to donor and staff inquiries by researching and resolving problems related to transactions handled by the department.
  • Identify extraordinary giving patterns and notify the Chief Development Officer for follow-up.
  • Perform all other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
