Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Development Scientist I (analytical focus) for a two-year temporary full-time position within the dynamic Network Centre for Applied Development (NetCAD) team in the Innovation and Portfolio Management group of the Innovation division. The NetCAD team is responsible for supporting product and process development for fresh blood components and providing blood to researchers through the Blood4Research program. In this role, you will be a member of the NetCAD blood and blood component development team which works to deepen the understanding of products and the processes used to manufacture them, including developing new, and improving current products and processes. Reporting to the lead development scientist, and working closely with a team of development scientists, you will provide technical support for analytical testing used to characterize blood and blood products. You will contribute to assay development and characterization studies, conduct lab-based assays and tests, analyze and interpret data, and help generate robust scientific evidence to advance product and process development initiatives. Your focus will be to support projects introducing new testing capabilities to netCAD and stabilizing current testing capabilities.
