About The Position

Development Quality Assurance Manager Overview SecurityMetrics is seeking a high-energy, strategic Development Quality Assurance (DQA) Manager to lead our testing and quality initiatives. In this role, you will be the primary advocate for software craftsmanship and reliability within our collaborative Agile environment. We are looking for a motivated leader who views quality not as a final gate, but as a continuous process integrated into the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The successful candidate will lead a team of QA engineers to deliver world-class security products, ensuring our solutions meet the rigorous standards our customers expect. You will define the technical vision for quality, champion automation-first strategies, and mentor cross-functional teams to achieve excellence in "Shift-Left" testing.

Requirements

  • Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Scrum/Agile methodologies with experience leading QA efforts in short-iteration environments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Background in modern web stacks and scalable architectures. Ability to provide technical guidance on test script development.
  • Automation Advocate: Passion for "automation in all things." Proven experience with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and integrating them into CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Testing Methodologies: Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Leadership Style: A hands-on, detail-oriented leader who stays grounded in the technical work while maintaining a high-level strategic focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Security Mindset: Given our industry, experience with security testing (OWASP Top 10) and vulnerability scanning is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic QA Leadership: Define and implement a comprehensive quality vision that integrates with our Agile development process, with a focus on continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
  • Team Management & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of QA Engineers. Oversee personnel management, including hiring, professional development, and performance reviews.
  • Automation Strategy: Drive the evolution of our automation frameworks. Propose and approve designs for automated regression, performance, and API testing to minimize manual overhead.
  • Quality Metrics & Governance: Identify, track, and report on key quality indicators (e.g., Code Coverage, Defect Escape Rate, Team Velocity) to drive data-driven process improvements.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and streamline testing workflows. Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Development Management, and Developers to ensure requirements are testable and that quality is built into the product roadmap from inception.
  • Escalation Management: Act as the primary point of contact for high-level quality issues, production incidents, and release readiness approvals.
