Development Miner
About The Position
SCR Mining and Tunnelling is seeking experienced and safety-focused Development Miners to join their underground mining operations team at Bissett, Manitoba. The role involves providing field support, drilling and blasting, and work associated with drift development. Successful candidates will operate equipment such as a Long-Tom for development drilling and hand-held pneumatic drills for ground support installation. Occasional operation of heavy equipment like scoop trams and service vehicles is also expected. This is a full-time position with a 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off Rotation, offering camp accommodation and meals. Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an underground development miner
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application

Responsibilities
- Follow all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as industry specific regulations
- Always be physically and mentally fit for work
- Identify unsafe conditions in underground headings
- Drill holes using hand-held pneumatic drills
- Insert rock bolt following approved method of installation
- Install other ground support components as required such as welded wire mesh and shotcrete
- Install or fix existing mine services such as vent tubing and pipes using various lifting equipment such as scissor trucks chain blocks and hand tools
- Follow directives from shift supervisors to coordinate day to day ground control requirements
- Assess all excavations and install ground support in development or reconditioned areas as per plan and section as the development progresses
