About The Position

The Development Manager leads ReBuilding Center’s fundraising strategy and day-to-day development program in partnership with the Executive Director and Development & Communications Coordinator. This hands-on role combines strategic planning with execution: building relationships, developing funding opportunities, writing proposals, strengthening fundraising systems, and growing contributed revenue from individuals, foundations, corporate partners, sponsorships, and campaigns. The organization’s approach to fundraising is community-centered and relational, emphasizing genuine, long-term relationships grounded in shared purpose, mutual respect, transparency, equity, and partnership. The position may grow in hours, scope, and leadership responsibility as the development program and contributed revenue grow. This is a 20-hour-per-week position based at ReBuilding Center’s Portland location. Work takes place on-site, remotely, and in the community as appropriate. The Development Manager and Executive Director will establish a regular schedule based on fundraising priorities and organizational needs. On-site participation is expected for meetings, collaboration, events, and other activities requiring an in-person presence; remote work may be used for responsibilities that can effectively be performed off-site under workplace policies.
