About The Position

Cheekwood Estate & Gardens offers a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful setting that serves as a botanical garden, arboretum, and museum. The Development Internships are designed for undergraduate students or recent graduates looking to gain experience in fundraising and administration within a nonprofit arts and cultural organization. The intern will work closely with the Development Team, participating in all facets of development, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Requirements

• 15 hours per week/12 weeks; Internships will run from January 25, 2027 – April 30, 2027.
• Junior or Senior at the undergraduate level, or recent graduate from an accredited university.
• Open to students pursuing degrees in Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Arts Administration, or other related fields.
• Students interested in fundraising, relationship management, sales, research, event planning, or nonprofit leadership are encouraged to apply.
• Submit a letter of interest with their resume, and a list of 2 references, at least one academic.

Responsibilities

• Support donor stewardship by helping with mailings and delivering gratitude packets and assisting with stewardship events.
• Assist with Prospect Research to help identify potential new Cheekwood Society supporters and business sponsors.
• Identify and Solicit small businesses for sponsorship of events.
