About The Position

Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the continent’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, seeks a Development Fundraising Associate in Mississippi with the following primary fundraising responsibilities: Identify, cultivate, and solicit entry-level major gifts from individuals to support the conservation mission of Ducks Unlimited (DU). Partner with development and event fundraising staff to raise awareness of DU’s major gift program and increase major gift revenue in the state. Work with DU leadership to motivate and guide volunteers with major gift fundraising responsibilities. Serve as the primary staff liaison for the Mississippi State Campaign Committee. Organize major gift events and field experiences. Achieve goals established in an Annual Work Plan. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of fundraising or related experience, with an emphasis on non-profit engagement and a strong outdoors/conservation ethic. Additional qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree Excellent interpersonal, relationship, and team-building skills Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to provide leadership and guidance to DU volunteers Goal-oriented and performance-driven Computer literacy with a proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs Must have a valid driver's license and provide proof of insurability Successful candidates will be self-starters who can work independently and as part of a team, and are driven to succeed. Familiarity with the DU event system, experience with fundraising events, established relationships in local communities, and an interest in outdoor conservation activities are also desired.  Selected candidates should have the desire and ability to travel in Mississippi and will be expected to reside in a mutually agreed-upon location within the assigned work area, with preference given to Central Mississippi.
