About The Position

Director of Development – Leading the Future of Community Health. As our Director of Development, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that mission thrives for generations to come. We’re seeking an experienced fundraising leader who can inspire philanthropy, strengthen community partnerships, and elevate GSCH’s visibility throughout the Seacoast. You’ll work with a talented team and drive initiatives that directly sustain life-changing healthcare programs for thousands of patients every year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of nonprofit leadership experience, with a proven record of success in development, fundraising, or advancement.
  • Demonstrated success in major donor cultivation, stewardship, and planned giving.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and data-driven donor management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM and donor management software (Raiser’s Edge or equivalent) and Microsoft Office.
  • A collaborative, self-motivated style with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all fundraising, development, and donor engagement initiatives, including major gifts, annual giving, events, corporate sponsorships, and planned giving.
  • Create and execute a multi-year development strategy aligned with GSCH’s strategic goals.
  • Build and steward strong relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
  • Partner with the CEO and CFO to establish sustainable, mission-driven fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications to share powerful impact stories and enhance GSCH’s community presence.
  • Partner with the Associate director on donor database management (Raiser’s Edge NXT) to ensure accuracy, compliance, and meaningful data insights.
  • Represent GSCH at community events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and philanthropic gatherings.
  • Drive a culture of philanthropy across the organization—engaging staff, volunteers, and board members in meaningful fundraising and stewardship activities.
