About The Position

The League for the Blind & Disabled Philanthropy Department is seeking a dedicated, hard-working, and self-motivated Development & Communications Manager. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and be motivated to serve our community. Preference is given to a qualified person with a disability. Working with the Director of Philanthropy, The Leadership Team, and other staff, this position will lead or support various fundraising and communication initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience managing WYSIWYG/plug & play websites and social media is required (2 years+)
  • Experience in planning and executing fundraising events is required (2 years+)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Canva, Adobe Suite or similar design programs preferred (2 years+)
  • Prefer a qualified person with a disability (preference as identified by state/federal funding source)

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support special fundraising events
  • Lead or support planned stewardship activities
  • Lead or support semi-annual appeals
  • Lead or support annual giving opportunities
  • Lead or support event sponsorship collateral
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of The League’s Annual Marketing and Development Plans
  • Assist in developing The League's Annual Report content
  • Manage donor database and is responsible for timely acknowledgements and reports
  • Manage The League’s social media pages, website, newsletter, and email blasts
  • Collaborate with departments to design creative marketing collateral while maintaining stock of brochures and other printed collateral
  • Identify, cultivate and secure community partners to engage in the organization’s mission
