Requirements

  • Comfortable working independently and under pressure while consistently delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience with donor databases or CRM systems—or a strong willingness to learn—and an interest in using data to support effective fundraising strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and open to learning and adopting new technologies.
  • Mission-driven professional with a commitment to The Jewish Federation; knowledge of the Jewish community, its customs, and practices is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Candidates should be located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Washington (DC, MD, and Northern VA) region.

Responsibilities

  • Support Financial Resource Development (FRD) fundraising initiatives and community campaigns by delivering exceptional donor service and ensuring seamless execution of fundraising and engagement efforts aligned with revenue goals.
  • Coordinate and deliver donor stewardship activities—including thank-you and welcome outreach, weekly touchpoints, birthday outreach, affinity group recognition and reporting, and FRD calendar management—to strengthen relationships and increase giving.
  • Personally solicit community donors ($1000 or less) throughout the year, building meaningful relationships that inspire sustained philanthropic support.
  • Plan and execute donor and community events end-to-end, managing logistics, vendors, venues, guest communications, registrations, and onsite execution in collaboration with lay leaders and internal teams.
  • Serve as a donor data and CRM expert by maintaining accurate records, tracking engagement, supporting direct marketing efforts, generating strategic reports, and managing operational tasks such as calendars, expenses, and event logistics.
