About The Position

The Development and Relationship Manager works at the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and the Resource Development Task Force to plan and execute development strategies and procedures for the Organization. This role involves campaign management, special events support, community and public relations, and database management to ensure the success of the Organization's resource development goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and successful Resource Development experience, including planning, organizing, and running successful and profitable fundraising events.
  • Proficiency, understanding, and business experience using various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Constant Contact (or similar email marketing platform), and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency with accessing and managing a donor database.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills which include an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Commitment to being an excellent high-performing team player who is able to meet and exceed goals and objectives.
  • Comfortable in representing the Organization in the community and communicating the Organization's purpose, impact, and performance.
  • Commitment to the Organization's Mission: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and manage various fundraising campaigns in support of organizational resource development goals and strategies.
  • Support the Resource Development Department in the execution and oversight of planning and execution of events, including timelines, progress reports, board, staff, and volunteer participation sign-ups, ticket sales, vendor relations, and securing event sponsors and in-kind donations.
  • Assist the Chief Executive Officer in developing strategic alliances with local community organizations, leaders, and prospective donors.
  • Reach out to all community members the Organization services to give them a better understanding of our community impact/importance in an effort to get them more involved individually, professionally, and financially, with special emphasis on the Grand Island and Lockport communities.
  • Manage the database for all donors and prospective donors and ensure that all records are accurate and up to date.
