About The Position

Passionate people are everywhere at Google. In Developer Relations, we get excited to collaborate and connect with the communities that love technology as much as we do. Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Relations Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. You write sample code and client libraries as well as participate in developer forums and support queues to troubleshoot and debug coding problems developers encounter. Internally, you work with product engineering teams to improve our products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API designs and testing new features. With your technical expertise, you drive strategy around fostering a community of developers who work with Google technologies. An ardent advocate for these developers, you represent their voice internally to our Product Managers and serve as their Google support in application development and technology implementation. As a Developer Relations Engineer (DRE), you will improve the developer story when building multi-device experiences in Android acting as the customer zero for upcoming platform features, partnering closely with internal Product and Engineering teams to provide technical feedback and shape developer-facing tools. You'll contribute code samples, documentation, and codelabs to establish clear, well-lit paths for Android developers globally and collaborate with strategic partners to solve complex code problems, drive adoption of key integrations, and elevate critical developer journeys. You will help shape the future of developer productivity by contributing to our AI-powered developer experience. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
3 years of experience with Android application development and coding in Java/Kotlin.

Nice To Haves

3 years of experience as a technical practitioner in a developer community.
Experience working with third parties or partners, and with mobile SDKs and libraries.
Experience with Media, Camera, or Android System UI APIs (such as Notifications and Widgets).
Experience writing blogs, technical documentation, or articles for developer communities, or contributing to open-source projects.
Experience in technical consulting, support, or developer relations roles.

Responsibilities

Act as "customer zero" for upcoming platform features, providing early technical feedback to internal Product and Engineering teams to shape developer-facing tools.
Partner with Google’s strategic mobile developers and ecosystem partners to drive adoption of core Android APIs and platform integrations.
Develop and contribute high-quality code samples, documentation, and codelabs to build clear paths for Android developers globally.
Consult with external partners via regular technical reviews to help design systems, debug complex code, and optimize user experience at a scale of millions of users.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Business Development, to advocate for partner needs internally and influence the product roadmap.
