About The Position

Join Mondelēz International and lead RDQ activities to complete packaging design and packaging deployment for innovation/growth projects and productivity projects across multiple geographies. You will coordinate technical work for projects, ensuring alignment with RDQ, marketing, and manufacturing requirements. This includes determining appropriate packaging specifications, managing suppliers, and conducting pilot-plant and factory trials. You will also develop packaging designs, specifications, and scale-up plans, and manage external agencies and suppliers. Your understanding of equipment design and manufacturing processes will ensure packaging specifications are determined with excellence. You will be accountable for stakeholder management, influencing decisions based on data analysis, and creating intellectual property to drive competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • Packaging development and/or packaging deployment, ideally within fast moving consumer goods or consumer packaging goods environment

  • Graphics: apply knowledge around the printing process to determine how it affects package performance. Effectively apply to business issues and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in a packaging development role, including co-op and/or internship experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for domestic or international vendor/manufacturing visits.

Responsibilities

  • Independently coordinate technical work for projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements.
  • Effectively communicate status and risks.
  • Coordinate projects to determine appropriate packaging specification information using sampling and supplier management and pilot-plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements.
  • Develop activities such as packaging design and specifications, scale up, commissioning, etc.
  • Plan for the effective use of resources including the use of external agencies and suppliers.
  • Ensure that packaging specifications are determined with excellence by using understanding of equipment design and manufacturing processes.
  • Be accountable for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions derived from the analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Develop and leverage connections both internally and with the external technical community.
  • Create intellectual property to drive competitive advantage.
