About The Position

ID.me is seeking a Developer Marketing Manager to lead the discovery, learning, and integration efforts for their identity platform among developers and technical evaluators. This role will be the marketing lead for developers.id.me and docs.id.me, focusing on transforming ID.me from a service-based model to a self-service platform. The manager will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevRel teams to create content that facilitates the transition from evaluation to integration. The Developer Portal is central to this strategic shift, and this role requires a marketer adept at managing this narrative from start to finish.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in developer marketing, technical product marketing, or developer relations at a company shipping API or platform products.
  • Technical background: CS or engineering degree, prior engineering or DevRel experience, or a portfolio of technical content (docs, tutorials, sample apps, dev portals).
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to understand PRDs, communicate with engineers, and produce effective quickstarts.
  • Hands-on familiarity with at least one modern stack (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar) and comfort working with code samples and Git.
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to a developer portal, docs site, or technical content program.
  • Familiarity with developer-funnel metrics: portal traffic, sandbox activation, time-to-first-API-call, integration completion.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working within a developer ecosystem or developer community.
  • Working knowledge of IAM and identity protocols (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML, SCIM, Enterprise SSO with Entra/Okta).
  • Prior experience marketing identity, auth, CIAM, or security platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own marketing for developers.id.me and the technical documentation experience at docs.id.me, including information architecture, content roadmap, page builds, and ongoing maintenance in partnership with Product and Engineering.
  • Write and ship technical content such as quickstarts, integration guides, API reference improvements, sample apps, and code snippets for the modular API suite (Face API, Age Verification, White-Label, Green-Label).
  • Ensure documentation, code samples, and version notes are synchronized with product releases, including new self-service capabilities like workflow policies, app-level reporting, and native API configuration.
  • Build hands-on enablement materials including tutorials, video walkthroughs, sandbox demos, and reference architectures for common identity workflows (OIDC, OAuth, SAML, SCIM, Enterprise SSO).
  • Translate engineering specifications and Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) into clear, developer-friendly content that explains concepts like Applications, Policies, and the workflow engine in plain language.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineering and Support to identify common developer integration challenges and create content to proactively address them.
  • Drive qualified developer traffic to developers.id.me through community engagement, partnerships, and developer-facing programs.
  • Develop campaigns and programs targeting technical evaluators (product managers, eCommerce leads, engineering managers, compliance officers) in conjunction with Field Marketing and Demand Generation teams.
  • Track and report on funnel metrics from portal visit to production integration, including sandbox signup, first API call, and policy activation.
  • Co-own technical launches with Product Marketing and Product Management, including release notes, migration guides, deprecations, and developer-facing aspects of major launches (Developer Portal, Organizations Platform, modular APIs).
  • Champion the platform narrative (modularity, self-service, configurable workflows) across all developer-facing surfaces.
  • Act as the marketing representative in DevRel and developer experience discussions, and relay developer feedback to Product and Engineering teams.

Benefits

  • Meaningful ownership of the developer marketing function.
  • Opportunity for runway to grow the function.
  • Direct line of communication to the VP of Enterprise Marketing, as well as Product and Engineering leadership.
