About The Position

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Developer III - Mainframe Support for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will provide advanced mainframe development and technical support for application teams, with a focus on troubleshooting, testing, deployment, development tools, and ongoing platform improvements. The role will also contribute to modernization initiatives and help translate technical challenges into practical business solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in application development, systems testing, or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrated experience working in a mainframe development environment
Strong working knowledge of JCL.
Experience with SORT/SyncSort, including security reporting and data-processing activities.
Proficiency with DB2/SQL and/or IMS query tools.
Strong understanding of application development, testing, integration, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot development, testing, implementation, and production issues and recommend effective resolutions.
Provide day-to-day technical support to application development teams using mainframe tools, utilities, and development processes.
Design, develop, modify, test, debug, document, and maintain application programs and related technical solutions.
Support code promotion, application testing, deployment, and implementation activities.
Partner with technical teams and customers to identify process improvements, enhance developer productivity, and support modernization efforts.
Maintain technical documentation and development standards while participating in security support, vendor initiatives, disaster recovery exercises, and business continuity activities.
