About The Position

Vaisala is a global leader in measurement instruments and intelligence, dedicated to helping industries, nations, people, and the planet thrive. Recognized in TIME Magazine's World's Best Companies in Sustainable Growth 2026 study, Vaisala employs close to 2,500 experts from 62 nationalities worldwide. Vaisala Xweather, a division of Vaisala, specializes in providing APIs and developer tools that deliver real-time weather, lightning, and environmental intelligence. These tools are utilized by developers to create diverse applications, ranging from logistics systems and energy trading tools to outdoor safety platforms. The company's mission is to transform weather challenges into opportunities and enhance resilience against severe weather and climate change. This Developer Advocate, Growth role is a hybrid position based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is designed to bridge the gap between code and product adoption by focusing on building practical tools, sharing useful code, and actively engaging with the developer community. The role emphasizes creating technical content, demos, and tutorials to drive product growth, rather than traditional marketing. It is described as a "builder role" where the individual will ship code, tutorials, and experiments to facilitate the adoption of the Xweather platform, which includes Weather APIs, real-time lightning detection, environmental data streams, and various maps and visualization tools. The ultimate goal is to help developers effectively integrate weather intelligence, an increasingly crucial data layer, into modern software.
