The Detox Specialist provides direct care and supervision to adults undergoing suboxone detox, ensuring the safety and involvement of clients in their treatment plans while supporting the therapeutic environment within the detox program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in Drug and Alcohol/Mental Health settings.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Capable of role modeling to clients.
  • Strong skills in D&A and mental health treatment.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, Licensing, and CARF regulations.
  • Understanding of Recovery Oriented Systems of Care.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations and react appropriately.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a strong ability to work in a team environment.
  • Complete required trainings and mandatory training hours within 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to adults with suboxone use, supporting the therapeutic milieu within the detox program.
  • Communicate with referral sources, funding sources, and significant others, adhering to confidentiality laws and regulations.
  • Participate in the implementation of treatment plans by monitoring and documenting clients’ progress.
  • Communicate information regarding client behavior to the treatment team.
  • Maintain positive communications with clients and family members.
  • Co-facilitate educational discussions and interactions.
  • Encourage and facilitate clients’ participation in scheduled activities.
  • Supervise clients to ensure their safety and involvement in treatment.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by nursing staff.
  • Accompany and transport clients as assigned.
  • Maintain client and program-related documentation.
  • Orient new clients to the facility, program, and therapeutic milieu.
  • Carry out clerical and administrative assignments to support client care and department operations.
  • Participate in activities that enhance professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrate conduct in keeping with ethical standards.
  • Participate in mandatory orientation and training.
  • Gather data and complete Needs Assessment.
  • Report in daily census call with Area VP.
  • Coordinate next level of care including conversions and aftercare.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
