Requirements

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency.
One (1) year of related experience.
Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
Must be able to obtain NCIC/TLETS certification within six (6) months of employment.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (certification requirement).

Responsibilities

Supervising and interacting with inmates to ensure their safety and health.
Providing inmate transport to court, interview rooms, and other agencies.
Completing administrative work.
Communicating and responding to queries.
Performing and overseeing the inventory of jail supplies and inmate property, evidence, and lost and found items.
Assisting in the implementation of safety procedures.
Providing janitorial services.
Providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
Providing excellent customer service.
