About The Position
Under direct supervision, maintains the City jail facility and follows established procedures and policies to ensure the Care, Custody and Control of prisoners, as well as the safety and well-being of City personnel and the public. The incumbent must be able to exercise independent judgment and perform duties according to detailed instructions with strict adherence to prescribed standards and procedures, without close supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Up to six months of experience in jail operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Ability to perform duties according to detailed instructions with strict adherence to prescribed standards and procedures, without close supervision
- Must be able to remain or respond in the event of emergency conditions and be available immediately before (Pre-Impact), during (Emergency Period), and/or after the disaster or emergency condition (Post Impact/Recovery), to perform duties directly related to the emergency conditions as determined by the City.
