About The Position
As a Correctional Officer, you will help maintain the safety and security of a correctional facility. The role involves supervising inmates, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, and maintaining accurate records. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and the ability to manage conflicts effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical fitness and agility to perform job duties effectively.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols.
- Conflict management and de-escalation skills.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and monitoring.
Nice To Haves
- First aid certification.
- CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain security and control within a correctional facility.
- Supervise and monitor inmate activities, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
- Search inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband.
- Respond to emergencies and disturbances within the facility.
- Enforce disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Escort inmates to and from locations within the facility.
- Maintain accurate records and write detailed reports.
