About The Position
Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Imperial Regional Detention Facility in Calexico, California. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping non-citizens gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release. Detention Officers are responsible for the custody and discipline of non-citizens assigned to the unit.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of California with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Nice To Haves
- STC and 832 certifications preferred.
- Prior corrections experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Search for contraband and provide security.
- Count, feed and supervise detainees in housing, work, and other areas.
- Perform specific security functions including ‘pat’ and ‘strip’ searches, by squatting and bending to perform such functions.
- Transfer and transport detainees by walking, driving, or riding in vehicles.
