Under general supervision, performs all administrative, clerical and manual duties associated with the detention of prisoners. This role involves establishing, completing, and maintaining prisoner paperwork, monitoring prisoner status and behavior, escorting prisoners, and physically intervening to prevent escapes or assaults. The position also includes processing prisoners, fingerprinting, photographing, and conducting physical searches. Additionally, the role requires maintaining the jail facility, administering intoxilizer tests, assessing prisoner medical conditions, and overseeing inmate activities such as clothing changes, property seizure, meal service, and movement between cells and common areas. Training for peers is also a responsibility.
