Performs administrative duties using the computer and telephone; handles correspondence and memorandums; orders necessary supplies each week; and completes weekly work schedules. Supervises assigned staff; completes/reviews staff evaluations; attends Command Staff meetings; and attends monthly supervisor meetings. Assists the public and law enforcement via on-line and on the telephone. Reads and handles legal documents such as subpoenas, affidavits, and bond information. Maintains composure under challenging circumstances; responds appropriately when detainees are verbally or physically abusive. Investigates and takes corrective action for policy violations. Screens applicants and interviews for related job openings. Interacts with individuals from varying backgrounds. Uses tact when given orders; gives clear instructions. Ensures proper guidance and training for assigned supervisors. Provides information for annual budget. Assists staff with the security of medical/mental health clinics; assists staff with court, medical, and mental health transports. Ensures inspections and spot checks of safety and security functions; makes sure personnel follow protocols. Performs other duties as assigned.
