About The Position

Perform a variety of electrical, mechanical and chemical operations required to produce detector arrays for imaging systems. Process, assemble, machine, inspect, and test a variety of delicate and intricate ceramic, mechanical, and electrical assemblies from written and verbal instructions. Recognize defective parts, perform appropriate rework; fit and adjust tools as required. Maintain and interpret process control charts. May be required to set up and tear down complex computer controlled mechanical and electrical machines. Perform work of a miscellaneous nature whenever it is conducive to efficient operation and/or maintaining production. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to use standard mechanical and electrical measuring devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assembly work requiring high level of bi modal and fine motor dexterity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manufacture close tolerance detector components using complex process machinery.
  • May require the use/wearing of a respirator.
  • Passed the visually related jobs group #2 vision test administered by the GE Healthcare Medical Center
  • Must be free of medical restrictions which could be conducive to a clean room environment
  • Passed physical screenings necessary to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Able to discriminate visually to perform various checks
  • Able to discriminate auditorially to perform noise checks
  • Bending motions from waist required
  • Able to handle/lift various parts/assemblies
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motion required
  • Extended period of standing/sitting
