About The Position

The Jim Pattison Auto Group is seeking an energetic, reliable, and organized Detailer to be the pillar of support for our Jim Pattison Volkswagen Surrey dealership. As a supporting role for our Service department, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that our vehicles are well presented to our customers. Requirements

A valid BC Driver’s License is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract report
Previous automotive detailing experience is strongly preferred
Willingness to learn advanced detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, and PPF installation techniques
Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmissions is preferred
Strong customer service mindset with a friendly, professional, and approachable attitude
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic
Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment
Frequent walking throughout the dealership, lot, shop, and detailing areas
Extended periods of standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching
Regular handling of cleaning products, detailing chemicals, tools, and installation equipment
Operation of vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions
Significant time working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sun, rain, wind, snow, cold, and heat (weather conditions are monitored for safety when necessary)

Responsibilities

Perform preparation, installation, and finishing of Paint Protection Film (PPF) and ceramic coating applications on a variety of vehicles.
Perform thorough interior and exterior detailing of customer and inventory vehicles, including washing, vacuuming, shampooing, polishing, paint correction, waxing, and finishing work
Maintain and monitor the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of all vehicles on-site.
Assist with vehicle clean-up, lot organization, and shop maintenance duties as required
Maneuver, arrange, and relocate vehicles safely within the dealership or detailing area as required
Inspect vehicles before and after detailing or film/coating services to ensure quality standards are met
Identify and promptly report any vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, or property-related issues
Safely and properly use detailing tools, equipment, installation tools, and cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines
Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information at all times
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, and productive work environment
Perform other related duties as assigned
