The Detailer is responsible for washing vehicle exteriors, cleaning interior and exterior windows, and wiping down doorjambs. This role involves applying wax, buffing surfaces, vacuuming interiors, and cleaning upholstery and rugs using appropriate cleaning agents. The Detailer also applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior surfaces, treats fabrics, and uses special-purpose cleaners to remove stubborn materials. A key part of the job is inspecting vehicles for defects like dents, scratches, or torn upholstery, and restoring the appearance of engine areas, rugs, upholstery, and painted surfaces using touch-up paint and dyes. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, including using proper protective gear when handling cleaning products. Additionally, the Detailer will fuel vehicles, apply tire dressing, replace small defective parts, and maintain showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition. This includes managing window stickers on both new and sold vehicles. The position also requires keeping the work area neat and clean, operating tools safely, and reporting safety issues immediately to management. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
