About The Position

The Pipe Detailer is responsible for detailing concrete pipe and manhole assemblies and components. The individual in this role will work with contract drawings while following the specifications as defined by individual municipalities. The position requires experience in a technical environment with strong background in computer applications and online document management. Exceptional time management and communication skills are critical as the ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Post-secondary education from a technical program (civil, structural, mechanical)
Ability to read construction drawings
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Strong data entry skills with both accuracy and speed
Detail orientated and the ability to effectively multi-task
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Excellent writing and grammar skills
Strong problem solver
Strong problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

Experience in manufacturing or construction would be considered an asset
Experience using drafting software would be an asset
Experience with Oracle / JD Edwards would be an asset

Responsibilities

Data entry into specialized software (Stack-It)
Material take-offs from contract drawings
Creating shop drawings in drafting software (AutoCad, Tekla Structures)
Communication and collaboration with project managers, engineering, and the plant to create accurate drawings for each project
Other duties as assigned
