About The Position

The Detail Technician is responsible for performing thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, used, and service vehicles to dealership standards. This role prepares vehicles for guest delivery, ensuring they are clean and presentable. The technician will also apply various protection products, inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues, and operate detail equipment. This position works on a flat-rate plan, where speed and quality directly impact earnings. The dealership emphasizes a hospitality-driven culture, believing that excellent employee experiences lead to excellent guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Previous detail or automotive experience preferred -- dealership detailing experience a strong plus
  • Motivated candidates without formal experience are welcome -- if you take pride in your work and move with urgency, we'll build the rest
  • A high personal standard for quality -- you notice what others miss and won't put your name on work that isn't right
  • Self-directed and productive -- flat rate rewards speed and consistency, and you need both
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the shift in varying Alaska conditions
  • Comfortable operating detail equipment safely and effectively
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, used, and service vehicles -- washing, vacuuming, polishing, and protecting to dealership standards
  • Prepare vehicles for guest delivery -- ensuring every car is clean, presentable, and ready to make a strong first impression
  • Apply paint protection, fabric protection, and aftermarket appearance products as directed
  • Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues -- scratches, stains, and odors -- and address or escalate appropriately
  • Operate detail equipment including pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners safely and effectively
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe detail bay and work area at all times
  • Coordinate with service advisors, porters, and sales staff to prioritize vehicle readiness and meet delivery timelines
  • Work efficiently on a flat-rate structure -- your speed, quality, and throughput directly determine your earnings
