About The Position

This role is responsible for inspecting vehicles to ensure required repairs and work are satisfactorily completed. The Detail Technician II will coordinate workflow to ensure all vehicles are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established Manheim quality standards. This position will monitor processes and work being performed to ensure SOPs are being followed properly, and ensure the appropriate PPE and safety equipment is available and employees are properly trained in their use. The Detail Technician II is responsible for ensuring all services are performed and appropriately charged against the vehicle. They will monitor and control the use of supplies, materials, and equipment for the Detail Shop, and coordinate the replenishment process. This role will also assist the Supervisor in monitoring and implementing guidelines for a safe work environment and achieve compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. The Detail Technician II will visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling those behaviors, and actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. Other duties may be assigned by manager or supervisor, including driving vehicles into the building and to the proper clean car staging area, and occasional sale day driving.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
  • OR 5 years’ experience in a related field
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and lean for extended periods.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of auto detailing, paint application processes, and associated repair procedures (preferred but not required).
