About The Position

At Manheim, a Cox Automotive company, the Detail Technician I prepares vehicles for sale by cleaning, detailing, and inspecting them to meet auction-ready standards. This hands-on role uses professional tools, equipment, and cleaning products to restore vehicle interiors and exteriors. The technician also prepares vehicles for sale, completes final quality inspections, follows safety procedures, keeps the work area clean, and helps move and stage vehicles within the auction area as needed.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Ability to lift and hold at least 30 pounds at waist level for an extended period.
Ability to stand, walk, talk, and hear in a variety of environments.
Ability to crouch, bend, and kneel to inspect the side or underside of vehicles.
Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship; visa sponsorship and OPT/CPT/STEM OPT are not available.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in an automotive, auction, or related operational setting.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Clean, detail, and restore vehicle interiors and exteriors using professional tools, equipment, and cleaning products.
Wash, vacuum, shampoo, polish, and detail vehicle interiors, exteriors, engines, wheels, and trim.
Prepare vehicles for sale by removing non-essential items and organizing materials such as owner’s manuals.
Complete final quality inspections of vehicles.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Assist with moving and staging vehicles, including driving vehicles within the auction area as needed.
