About The Position

The Detail Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and organization of the dealership's vehicle inventory and parking areas. This role involves inspecting vehicles for damage, managing inventory appearance, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the service drive and vehicle lots. The Detail Porter also operates vehicles, catalogs keys, and performs other assigned tasks to support dealership operations.

Responsibilities

Inspects and records any damages and lists missing items before parking in staging area.
Parks and retrieves cars.
Catalogs and stores keys.
Operates vehicles, and ensures they are locked and secured.
Manages and maintains the parking area.
Maintains clean service drive work area.
Maintains new- and used-vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles, replenishing all vehicle fluids as needed, and replacing batteries when necessary.
Places buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles.
Keeps new- and used-vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the general manager and in accordance with dealership display standards.
Sweeps, shovels, or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and removes containers from work areas.
Inspects parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
Makes key tags for vehicles.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
