This position is for a Detail Manager at the Reconditioning Center. The role involves managing the workflow of vehicle detailing and reconditioning to ensure vehicles are ready for sale or delivery on time and meet high quality standards. The manager will lead a team, coordinate with internal departments and external vendors, and maintain the detailing area. Requirements

  • At least 8 years' experience in Automotive Detailing & Reconditioning
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of interior/exterior detailing, paint correction, and overall vehicle presentation standards.
  • Ability to consistently inspect and ensure vehicles meet company or dealership quality standards before delivery.
  • Experience managing a team, setting expectations, holding staff accountable, and maintaining productivity.
  • Ability to prioritize jobs, manage turnaround times, and coordinate with service, sales, and vendors to keep inventory moving.
  • Experience working with outside vendors (detailers, wheel repair, PDR, etc.) and managing scheduling, pickups, and drop-offs.
  • Clear, professional communication with internal teams (Recon, Service, Sales) and the ability to address issues without escalation along with coordination of detail schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workflow, assign jobs, and ensure all vehicles are completed on time and ready for sale or delivery.
  • Inspect completed vehicles and verify they meet company cleanliness and presentation standards before release.
  • Communicate status updates, prioritize units, and align detailing work with overall dealership needs.
  • Train, coach, and monitor detail team members to ensure efficiency, consistency, and accountability.
  • Work with third-party vendors (wheel repair, PDR, etc.) to ensure timely service and proper coordination.
  • Track and maintain detailing chemicals, tools, and equipment to avoid downtime or shortages.
  • Ensure the detail area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards and company policies.
