About The Position

Jonti-Craft is seeking a DET Machine Operator for their 2nd shift. This role involves operating the DET machine, understanding its safety features and guidelines, and maintaining a keen eye for quality. The operator will be responsible for starting up, operating, and shutting down the machine, as well as performing upkeep and scheduled maintenance in the DET area. Key tasks include tool changes, quality checks, troubleshooting, and coordinating with the upcoming shift for smooth changeovers. Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for safety purposes in an understandable manner.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent understanding of the metric system and metric tools necessary to operate the machine.
  • Excellent communication skills required to ensure communication between shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read CAD drawing preferred.
  • Prior CNC experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of our support system, i.e. Fourth Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Starts up and shuts down the machine.
  • Understands the programming of the DET, including locating and maneuvering programs.
  • Loads and changes programs.
  • Operates the machine.
  • Changes blades and re-orders blades.
  • Changes, sets depth, and re-orders tools.
  • Communicates with QA to review parts or quality issues.
  • Performs quality checks on incoming parts and ensures a quality product off the machine.
  • Helps quality staff troubleshoot production-related quality issues.
  • Enters defect and scrap information.
  • Cleans the machine and performs scheduled maintenance, including greasing and oiling.
  • Puts in maintenance requests.
  • Locates and reads CAD drawings.
  • Runs and checks test boards and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Is familiar with all emergency shut-offs, stops, and resets.
  • Understands and follows the enhanced dispatch list.
  • Enters in ECO's.
  • May be responsible for training others on the DET's operation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
