Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated Destruction Technician/ Offer Loader to join our Operations team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately and securely processing and destroying all materials delivered to the facility.

Requirements

  • Current experience in a production or warehousing environment.
  • Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy bags, pushing rolling carts, and pulling two-and four-wheeled containers weighing up to 225 pounds.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery operation, with preference given to candidates possessing Bobcat and Forklift experience.
  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift in a non-climate controlled atmosphere, which includes about five hours spent on machine operation (Forklift/Bobcat).
  • Available for weekend work as required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the material destruction process, including cutting open bags, dumping payloads, emptying and sorting material by grade.
  • Maintain operational efficiency by safely operating destruction machinery, performing regular equipment cleaning, and handling emergency equipment repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance by maintaining strict security of all customer material and vehicles, and keeping the work area clean, following all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Safely operate heavy transport vehicles (6+ wheels) to Load and unload them at the shred plant
  • Lead a team of destruction technicians in emptying collected material from containers (tipping containers, dumping gaylords) and manually dumping boxes from pallets.
  • Sort materials by grade while identifying and discarding contaminants.
  • Maintain a strict chain of custody and control over all incoming and outgoing customer material in compliance with NAID standards.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance as directed.
  • Authorized to perform emergency repairs to ensure safe production; immediately report non-operational equipment to management.
  • Uphold all OHSA, NAID, and company safety procedures, including wearing required uniforms and PPE.
  • Follow 5S Workplace Program guidelines and report safety/security concerns or layout obstacles to supervisors.
  • Assist with training new staff and recommend process improvements to the Plant Manager or Supervisor.
